Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist
The kids and adolescents we work with:
The most amazing part about being an OT is the people we work with! Our clients are aged 0-18 years old who have neurological conditions, physical disabilities including cerebral palsy and spina bifida, autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing differences, ADHD, dyspraxia, developmental and motor delays, learning and intellectual disabilities or behavioural and emotional regulation difficulties. It is a privilege to assist the kids and their families to develop their strengths, independence and to achieve their goals.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to take the next step in your clinical career by managing a team of paediatric Occupational Therapists. You will also have a clinical caseload, working with clients and their families in the clinic, community and school environment.

The role:

Permanent full or part time position

Build your own paediatric team

Maintain a collaborative and positive team culture

Allocate referrals, manage leave requests and complete team performance reviews
In addition to the leadership role, your role as a clinician will involve:
-
Assessment and intervention completed in the clinic or within the community (home, pre-school, schools)
-
Completion of standardised developmental, fine motor/gross motor and sensory assessments as well as goal setting
-
Provision of interventions including fine and gross motor skill development, handwriting, ADL training, play skills, sensory and emotional regulation
-
Assistive technology prescription
Essential Criteria:
-
A degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
-
Previous experience working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist
-
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, time management and organisational skills
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team and apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing tasks
-
Ability to carry out assessment and intervention of children in areas of self-care, sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills
-
Experience recommending and prescribing Assistive Technology
-
Working with Children Check and Police Check
-
Current driver’s licence and own car with comprehensive insurance
Desirable Criteria:

Experience working in the National Disability Insurance Scheme system
Occupational Therapist (adult caseload / mixed caseload):

What does a day look like for you in this role?
As a qualified Physiotherapist, you will provide both in clinic and community services across the region (capped travel distance) to provide assessment and intervention of multidisciplinary approaches to achieving client centred goals. In return you will be offered a generous salary with additional allowances.
